"It's therefore tremendously refreshing how a group of young adults approaches the topic: In the one-hour piece "Nebelwelt" directed by Circus Schatzinsel, young people from Germany, Syria and Afghanistan [...] show how prejudices turn into conflicts and how they can be resolved again - and all this, without even speaking a single word!"
With this new format, we have decided to give the artistic youngsters a place at the festival. The ensemble of Circus Schatzinsel has been working with changing casts of young performers for about 13 years to bring socio-political issues to the stage. Contemporary circus from the youth circus.
"Nebelwelt" (Mistworld) tells of forest creatures that encounter each other, again and again with arguments and struggles. They fight for their own space, for power and friendship, for love and recognition and they often lose themselves in the fog. Escalations are the result.
These images are reminiscent of our current global political situation, the struggles of the powerful and the powerless in our world and of very personal and private situations of human encounter.
Young people from Syria, Afghanistan, Poland and Germany express their questions to the world through this circus theater. A socio-critical movement art piece of contemporary dance, theater and artistry.
