Monki leads us to look in the rearview mirror at the beginning of his teenage years, where the simplest stories turn into extravagant adventures! We are transported into the past of Generation Y, in which video games, 8-bit music, tape players and lava lamps are the emblematic objects of the imagination.

Around and on top of the 2 chinese poles Monki tells with breathtaking acrobatic skill a touching story of the awkwardness and insecurity of his teenage years. With a lot of humour, fun and a portion of human messiness, he manages to pull us into his world and leaves us with a wide smile.

STATIC is a tender, funny and touching show, a heart-warming experience about human connection and fragility, that let's us celebrate the awkwardness, the fragility and the festiveness of life.

Benjamin, whom everybody calls Monki, graduated from Codarts Circus Arts in Rotterdam. Since then, he developed a circus style, heavily infused with theatrical elements and live-music. He created a total of four shows, won several prices, is supported through the Dutch production house TENT and is part of the French ‘Collectif Sous le Manteau’.
